第2回定期総会で英語名称を変更しました／The 2nd Annual General Meeting Was Held To Change English Name

無生殖協会では2022年8月28日に第2回定期総会を開催し、

  1. 会則改正案の採択による英語名称の変更
  2. ロゴと協会名称を併記する際のフォントに関する変更の承認

を行いました。

議事録および検討された英語名称に関する参考資料は以下の通りです。

 

We held the second annual general meeting on August 28 to

  1. amend the rules to change this organization's English name, and
  2. approve changes to the way in which the organization name should be displayed alonside with the logo.

Below are the minutes and information on several English names discueed at the meeting.

議事の経過の概要及びその結果

 

　穂積浅葱代表が本総会の開会を宣言し、本総会が7名の会員の出席により成立することを報告した。

　出席した2名の代表のうち穂積浅葱代表が議長を務めることを宣言し、議長の指名により古野裕一代表が副議長に就いた。続いて、議案の審議に移った。

 

1. 会則改正による英語名称変更

　穂積浅葱代表が提案の理由を説明し、採用され得る全ての新名称の使用および現行名称の継続使用の利点と欠点を説明した。会則改正案Aの採択による新英語名称 ‘Antinatalism Japan’ の採用に好意的な意見が多数聞かれ、採決が行われた結果、会則改正案Aが賛成多数で採択された。

2. ロゴの使用法に関する小変更

　穂積浅葱代表が提案の理由を説明した。フォントを太くすることによる文字潰れの懸念が示されたが、実用の際にはその問題は対処可能であるとの認識を穂積代表が示した。採決の結果、この変更は全会一致で承認された。

 

　議長はこれを以て本総会の全ての目的事項が終了したことを確認し、21時37分に閉会を宣言した。

 

　この議事録は穂積浅葱によって作成され、その内容に誤りのないことがはぴにより確認された。

SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS AND RESOLUTIONS

 

Director Asagi Hozumi declared the opening of the general meeting and reported that the quorum was achieved so that the meeting could be held.

Director Asagi Hozumi declared that he would be the chairperson, and appointed Director Yuichi Furuno to be the vice-chairperson.

 

1. Change to English Name of Organization by Amending Rules

Co-Director Asagi Hozumi explained the reason for the proposal and elaborated on advantages/disadvantages of potential use of new names and that of current name. Many comments favoring changing the English name to 'Antinatalism Japan' by adopting Proposed Amendment A were made. Proposed Amendment A was adopted as a result of voting.

2. Change to Ways in which Logo Should Be Used

Co-Director Asagi Hozumi explained the reason for the proposal. Concern was expressed that using a bolder font might cause an issue of letters/characters being illegible, but Hozumi showed his understanding that it would not be impossible to address in actual use. As a result of voting, the change was approved unanimously.

 

Chairperson Hozumi confirmed everything planned for the meeting had been discussed, and declared the closure at 21:37.

 

Asagi Hozumi made these minutes and Hapi confirmed their content is true and correct.

提案の概要

 

　会則改正案A、B、またはCを採択することによって英語名称を変更することを提案します。

 

提案の理由

 

　現在、会則1-1により本会の英語での名称は “The Asscoation of Anti-Procreationism in Japan”（略称：The AAPJ）とされていますが、これを ”Antinatalism Japan”、“Vegantinatalism Japan”、または “Anti-Procreationism Japan” に変更することには、次章の表に示すような利点が存在すると考えられます。

REASON

 

Changing the English name of the organization, which is currently  ‘The Association of Anti-Procreationism in Japan,’ The AAPJ in short, to ‘Antinatalism Japan,’ ‘Vegantinatalism Japan,’ or ‘Anti-Procreationism Japan’ has benefits as shown below.

 

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF NEW NAMES

RELATIONSHIP WITH VISUAL IDENTITY Could help change the public image of people/organizations who openly support antinatalism as ‘gloomy,’ ‘cult,’ ‘dangerous’ by having the term ‘antinatalism’ in the name of this organization. VEGANISM Advocating for veganism with this name could show our concerns over the speciesist way in which the terms ‘antinatalism’ and ‘反出生主義’ is often used.
